Attention Healthcare Professionals and Teachers:
The Illinois State Board of Education’s Career Development and Preparation Division, in conjunction with the Curriculum Revitalization Project, will be holding a Structured Group Interview/Focus Group on January 14, 2009. The purpose of this meeting is to determine the knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of Pharmacy Technician. The collaborative results of this one-day meeting will be used to further the development of the Curriculum Revitalization Project, on-line Lesson Library located at www.ilcte.org.
We are seeking Pharmacy Technicians to define the knowledge and skills needed for this critical, new field. We are also seeking health teachers and professionals to act as observers. This is an excellent opportunity for Pharmacy Technicians to network within their field and to participate in the spirit of service to the community.
If you are interested in joining this focus group, as a participant, or as an observer, please email Linda Cozzolino at lcozzolino@ioes.org. We would also appreciate any contacts or leads you could provide. |

The Chicago World of Wheels 3rd Annual Student Day Friday, January 23, 2009
The 2009 ISCA indoor car show season is just around the corner and we are preparing for the ISCA Student Day in eighteen markets throughout the country.
The Chicago World of Wheels will be conducting its 3rd Annual Student Day on Friday, January 23, 2009. It will start at 9:30 a.m. with a general meeting to welcome all the students, instructors and chaperones. This meeting will last about 35-45 minutes, and will include some short presentations by some notable individuals in the custom and specialty automotive aftermarket. After the presentations, the attendees will be allowed into the 47th CARQUEST World of Wheels show. The show will not open to the public until 3:00; so this will give everyone ample time to visit with many of the vendors and car owners.
The cost is $10.00 per person and paid participants will receive a wristband that will allow them entrance into the show free of charge for the whole weekend. There is also a $5.00 food voucher available that will entitle the participant to a hot dog, chips and a drink.
Follow this link to a registration form for this year’s show. Fill it out and get your students on board for an experience they will never forget. The CARQUEST World of Wheels is one of our best shows every year, and 2009 will be no different.
We understand that field trips are getting harder and harder to plan, but this is one field trip that everyone will benefit from. By the way, there is free bus parking.

Seniors and juniors are allowed to compete and we ask each school to bring a maximum of 3 students. If a junior wins a tuition waiver, we will honor that the next year. Students cannot participate in both contests. You can register anytime by contacting Eric Gleason (217) 314-0209 or email egleason@midwesttech.edu. Please register soon! The past 2 years we have been completely booked. I look forward to seeing everyone soon!
Sincerely,
Eric Gleason
